Without a doubt, Cody Rhodes has achieved what he has been trying to do for several years. To be the face of WWE. A large part of this is because his character has managed to connect perfectly with the WWE audience. Something that did not happen in AEW. A large part of this success is due to his entrance theme which has helped him engage the audience more.
So there might be a surprise planned for the fans at WrestleMania XL. Something they might or might not be a fan of. What is it? Well, it’s a live performance by the band for Rhodes’ entrance.

Recently, the musical group revealed that they would be making a big announcement for WrestleMania XL. In a recent conversation with Steve Fall, Zack Call, the lead vocalist of Downstait, was asked about his plans for WrestleMania 40. Although Call didn’t reveal specific details, he hinted at his presence during the weekend of the event. He said, “So we’re gonna leave that to our announcement on 4-5-24 and all of our teasers. We’ll have to wait and see what’s going on there.” He further adds, “I can tell you this. I will be in Philadelphia WrestleMania weekend.”

This plan might work, but live performances don’t always work in the WWE. For every Limp Bizkit, there’s a MGK performing at WrestleMania. And who can forget the way he incurred boos from the live audience? Well, Downstait too received generally negative reviews when they performed at AEW. And fans are worried that history might repeat itself.
Fans are not too thrilled with the prospect of Downstait playing live
As soon as the announcement was made, fans took to social media to share their skepticism toward the plan. The last time Downstait performed at AEW Revolution back in 2020, they sounded miserable, to say the least. And the same happening at Mania will be unacceptable. So wasting no time, fans took to social media to share their thoughts. Here are some of the reactions:
This fan bluntly states that Downstait do not sound good live.
They sound like shit live. We’ve seen it before. Big swing and a miss

Another fan claimed that the band sounded out of tune.

This fan had another version in mind that can be used.
Please don’t do Cody’s entrance live .. I saw the AEW one and it was so bad.. I wish they could play the symphonic version that AEW owns tho

One fan tried to remind the band of their awful AEW performance.
Do they not remember the time they live performed it in AEW and it sucked?

This fan is hoping that they do not perform.
I hope they don't perform the song. It didn't sound good when the band did it at AEW

Considering how big the event is, maybe the WWE should listen to their fans and drop the plan. After all, the Showcase of the Immortals is a major event for the American Nightmare. In fact, he will have double duty. On the first night, he and Seth Rollins will face Roman Reigns and The Rock in a tag team match. While on the second night, Rhodes will face Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. So, what do you think? Should Downstait perform at WrestleMania? Let us know in the comments.
