Did Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green just rip off The Acclaimed's signature move? WWE vs. AEW again!

Sonya Deville is back on her boots and with her full mojo. The 30-year-old has brutally been shelved in July last year due to a grave injury. While it was a too crucial time of her career to be put on hold, Deville coped with the setback well and reverted stronger. She teamed up with Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler for a vicious ambush on Damage CTRL last week, telling the world who runs the Women’s division. Stark and Baszler have displayed some disorientation without Deville in the team leading to a lackluster run for them. However, after regaining their impact player, the team scored another consecutive victory tonight against Lyra Valkyra and Co. That said, it was not their win that got people talking, rather, their post-winning gesture that showed a clear resemblance with an AEW norm set the internet on fire.

The renowned AEW tag team, The Acclaimed, was seemingly referenced in the winner trios’ victory commemoration.

Lyra Valkyria gets assistance from Kayden Carter and Katana Chance to fight off Deville and her girls. But despite putting in a commendable effort, Valkyria received a massive blow. In the middle of the match, the 29-year-old almost took the match in her favor when Stark pushed her off the top rope with a little intervention from Baszler. The increasing chaos finally culminated in Deville getting her card right on the place. After standing out, the trio showcased the signature scissor-me pose that has solely been popularized in the AEW realm by The Acclaimed.

The likes of Max Caster & Anthony Bowens as a team gained huge traction from all across the world, thanks to their unfathomable in-ring connection and the extraordinary ability to connect with the crowd.

The backstory of The Acclaimed’s signature trait: Explained

The sensational AEW duo’s sky-rocketed popularity largely owes to the “A” signs representing the scissoring with their fingers. Eventually, it evolved to be part of the forbidden merch and recorded smashing selling numbers over the years. However, if we go back to its roots, it started to catch the eye during the pandemic. Explaining it further, Anthony Bowens noted, ”There was a time, it was a Dark taping way back in the pandemic era, where I hit my pose with the A, and Caster came up behind me and scissored me and there was a camera shot of it where I’m like ‘What the hell? What did you just do?”’
