Cody Rhodes indeed changed position in professional wrestling in the span of six years. He became the first AEW star to jump ship to WWE earlier this year, which was a bold move ever seen.

The former three-time TNT champion was the EVP of AEW, so his departure was a big deal. However, a WWE Hall of Famer recently shared what he thinks would have led to his departure.

Eric Bischoff recently appeared on the show, Chris Van Vliet. The host shared once ‘The American Nightmare told him in 2018 WWE has WrestleMania, which no other company has. He believes Rhodes left AEW for wrestling at the grandest stage. Bischoff agreed with it but had more to add to it.

Bischoff said, “I think it was more than that, I think that was. There was some frustration because WWE had WrestleMania when Cody was there before. (He was Stardust said, Vliet) Yeah, well, and that’s why he left. He didn’t feel creatively fulfilled and he didn’t believe that anything would change in the near future.”

He added, “He went to WWE so he could be in charge of his own destiny. Which is why he went to AEW so he could be in charge of his own destiny. So much respect for him for doing that as well as everybody else. Something happen there and I would just believe it was just creative frustration. It would be my guess.”

The former WCW top official has always been vocal about his views on AEW. Therefore, he thinks Rhodes thought of the switch because of some issues in the Tony Khan promotion that stopped his success.

Will Cody Rhodes win the WWE Championship?

Bischoff didn’t only talk about the big jump off ‘The Dashing’ Cody Rhodes, but also if he’ll the top price. Currently, the former Intercontinental Champion is the favorable star to win the Royal Rumble or the WWE title next year.

However, Eric Bischoff said, “Gosh I don’t know. I just have no feel for Hall of X creative. I just don’t have the feel.”

Nevertheless, Bischoff says the story wrestling universe running right now is great. Only time will say what plans WWE has in the bag for Rhodes upon his return.

Why Rhodes was out of action?

The American Nightmare had a great trilogy of matches against Seth Rollins this year. However, the third one was a classic as Rhodes the Hell in the Cell with a torn peck.
