The All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has been able to establish itself as a prominent alternative to the WWE. Tony Khan’s promotion managed to beat the likes of other existing promotions, like Impact, to accomplish this feat. Today, the AEW is home to many former WWE stars and legends. However, when it comes to the quality of wrestling, it still needs to improve. Recently, fans pointed at the same thing after a women’s bout.
AEW isn’t new to criticism regarding the quality of matches. Pro wrestling faithful have constantly picked WWE ahead of the Jacksonville-based promotion based on that parameter and after the recent gaffe, the order looks to remain unchanged.
Who did the fans criticize?

On the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, former AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker locked horns with Taya Valkyrie. Baker responded to a challenge from the 39-year-old Canadian for their first-ever singles encounter.
While Baker managed to win the bout, slow movements and multiple fumbles marred the match. Fans were particularly unhappy with one sequence.

Valkyrie held Baker to execute her Road To Valhalla finisher. While it requires her to hoist her opponent before slamming them, Valkyrie dropped Baker into a botched move. To make up for it, she started to rain punches on her opponent.

Hawkeyed fans called out the mistake after a clip of the sequence got uploaded on social media. They even slammed the promotion while drawing parallels with the rival WWE.
90% of Wrestlers in That Company Can’t Wrestle” Fans call out AEW for lack of good wrestling matches
As mentioned above, AEW’s Achilles Heel has been wrestling. They have been accused in the past of copying content from rivals. Though there have been flashes of genius at times, the overall product still remains in the developing phase.
These users echoed that sentiment with their tweets.

One person also equated the match with WWE superstars Ronda Rousey and Shotzi’s bout. The said match took place at the WWE Survivor Series: WarGames on November 26, 2022. The two stars were involved in a massive botch and received backlash from the fans.
The shotzi vs Ronda of AEW, two just sloppy and slow women in one match

Since the move was executed by Valkyrie, she was the main target of the tweet. The user was not only critical of her performance during the said match, but also of her wrestling skills.
Taya is horrible, she’s a sluggish sloppy wrestler. And often makes good women look bad in the ring

And not just Valkyrie, Baker was also condemned for the failed spot.
This match was so bad. And the sad thing is that as soon as you saw Taya call out Britt on Collision, you knew it was gonna be bad. Taya hasn't been good and Britt is awful.
