The latest hype in the wrestling world has been generated around Shane McMahon’s AEW debut rumors that first came to the surface with Conrad Thompson, revealing to Jim Ross that a mutual friend claimed McMahon had reached out to several AEW roster members. Given that he’s currently run out of days from his previous WWE contract, fans tend to wonder if it really means an AEW run is looming.
However, shortly after, the rumors died down with Fightful Select confirming Tony Khan poured cold water on the idea of McMahon joining AEW. But this was not the end of the canards. To fan it up even more, Dutch Mantle outlined a potential storyline of Shane McMahon’s AEW arrival.

Shane McMahon was spotted with Mercedes Mone at the LaGuardia Airport in New York City. There the duo reportedly indulged in some AEW talk with the TBS Champion, making ample ground for the fans to continue with their not-so-delusive anticipation. That said, not only fans, but WWE veterans like Dutch Mantle also chimed in the dynamic, giving even a broader, sharper perspective.
He foresaw a segment where the former WWE star would shake Khan off his inefficient booking practices with an absolute Chad move.
During the most recent episode of his podcast, the 74-year-old noted, ”Well I could see Shane coming in. He comes in and everybody knows he’s got a lot of money too. He doesn’t have as much as Tony does, Tony Khan does. But still, money is money. So he wants to come in and make him a deal where he wants to take over the company or at least 51% of it. I’ve done this angle before. I’ve done it for a really long time. We’ve run for two years.”
Jim Cornette also suggested some creative collaboration between the WWE heavyweight and the AEW head honcho could prove great. The legendary WWE figure might want to make amends for his ill-fated last appearance in pro wrestling.

McMahon’s last WWE appearance did not go according to plan
Shane McMahon, 54, has not been active in a WWE storyline for a while now. With a major controversy unfolding back in the 2022 Royal Rumble, his WWE tenure had almost come to a finish, although the last appearance hit the next year during WrestleMania 39. The McMahon kid slid his nose into The Miz’s WrestleMania spot in an impromptu segment but ended up injuring his quad toward the beginning of the match, leaving the spot free for Snoop Dogg, who eventually scored the victory over the-lister.
