Social media walls have been set ablaze with the rampant rumors of the McMahon prince coming to grace Tony Khan’s promotion. The rumors have their roots etched via Jim Ross and his co-host Thompson, in the Grilling JR podcast. They revealed that the 54-year-old had some talks with the AEW higher-up tars to explore his transition to the promotion. While it was only reports at first, the sudden bump up between AEW TBS & NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone and Shane McMahon in LaGuardia Airport, New York, made it a thing to watch out for. PWInsider confirmed that the duo were conversing about McMahon’s rumored debut while awaiting their respective flights.

The situation further kept on going back and forth, with Matt Hardy dismissing the idea straightaway. During a recent edition of Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the former WWE personality addressed the rumors and dubbed them 100% false. But this is not the end of the discussion. To fan the old flame up again, fans spotted a weird AEW vignette on Collison tonight. The clip featured a man jumping through some sort of portal. While the face hasn’t been revealed, fans can smell its McMahon. They flooded the comment section with their strategic guess.

Shane McMahon last appeared in WWE in WrestleMania 39. He didn’t enjoy the best of times as he had to leave his spot against The Miz due to a quad injury. The former WWE figure also engulfed himself in a major Royal Rumble controversy in 2022. Given that he’s currently not in an active contract with the Stamford-based company, the AEW rumbling sounds logical. Also, he can easily go past his father’s negative WWE image by taking this uncanny step forward. Although it will still be the most bizarre event in professional wrestling history, fans are convinced that he’s getting on there, especially after the mysterious clip.

There are also some alternative theories on the plate. A handful of wrestlers, including former WWE star Ricochet, are heavily rumored to step into Khan’s domain. According to a new update by Fighful Select, Ricochet’s agent was seen at AEW this week, and he has been spawning subsequent talks between both sides. So a few fans also kept him and Shane McMahon side by side along with a few others as the potential mystery figure behind the clip.

However, most of them still single-mindedly go for McMahon.
