As rumors run rampant on whether Sasha Banks will join AEW, her very presence is literally being erased from WWE. The wrestling star, who has been hopping the independent circuit for the last year, was with WWE for a decade.
Ending her tenure at WWE in 2022, the star most recently made her debut at New Japan Pro-Wrestling earlier this year, under the name Mercedes Moné. While Banks’ departure from WWE was no friendly affair, with her and tag team partner Naomi literally walking out on the promotion, the wrestler’s presence on WWE has still remained. However, with Banks potentially partnering up with AEW, WWE’s attitude towards Banks has changed.

While she joined WWE in 2012, Banks joined the main roster in 2015. During her stint with the company, she won both the RAW and SmackDown women’s championships. She even went on to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship thrice in her career. In spite of having such a successful career, she eventually left the company due to creative differences with Vince McMahon.
Even after leaving WWE on a bad note, she thanked both Triple H and Vince McMahon on Twitter before her first NJPW PPV match. Just six months ago, there were also rumors that Banks would be returning to WWE after her NJPW contract ended. But that seems like an uncertainty as WWE took the liberty to delete Sasha Banks from one of the videos it recently posted on Twitter.
