CM Punk’s backstage issues with Tony Khan have been a well-documented part of wrestling folklore. The Second City Saint had a stint to forget in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Rather, than for his actions inside the squared circle, his most memorable moments came courtesy of bad-mouthing bigwigs like Young Bucks, Hangman Page, Jack Perry, etc, and his injury concerns. So, it’s safe to say that Punk didn’t have many backers when Khan did him dirty regarding a petty ALL-In brawl with Jack Perry. But Samoa Joe has been one of the few who didn’t take huge issue with the scandal.

AEW’s recently released ALL-In documentary is slated to air next Monday in London. Nevertheless, the beautiful teaser and a few leaked clips have already surfaced on the internet. Especially, a clip where Samoa Joe was seen turning the wise locker room leaders into a psyched-up group of men following the Punk-Perry mishap has been awe-inspiring.

Earlier this year, the company aired footage of Perry and Punk’s heated exchange backstage. The issue primarily originated from Perry triggering the WWE star to use real glass (which was banned) in his pre-show match against HOOK. CM Punk successfully defended his Real World Championship against Samoa Joe. The match went unhindered but soon news erupted of Punk’s involvement in the brawl before his match took place. What happened a week later during All Out took everyone by storm.

Tony Khan released a dramatic press statement on how the incident between Punk and Perry terrified him and the people out there for their lives. It ultimately led to Punk’s firing. Now, footage from the inside documentary showcased how one of the crucial eyewitnesses of the escapade, Joe, first reacted to it.

The Destroyer threw some explicit words to pacify the mood of the locker room. He also made sure to do his part in rallying the locker room for a historic event at the Wembley Stadium in the UK.

As the fans’ caption suggests, it was indeed not a surprise from someone who has been a WWE veteran for years before AEW. The former WWE star had even commented on the incident and cited the reason for the brawl.

Samia Joe stated that it was normal to him as he had already seen a host of catastrophic locker room scenarios in his storied career. The wrestler who shares a long-standing camaraderie with Punk through their mutual tenure in ROH, WWE, and AEW, however, distinguished the controversial Punk issue from the others on only one ground. He thinks the timing of the brawl was responsible for all the mess up. ‘‘We had a show to do. We had fans waiting out there. And that was my focus, that’s what it was about at that moment. We’re about to go out and have the best night of our lives.”, the 45-year-old noted.

Joe remained extremely formal and on point when he garnered praise for being the only sane one trying to fix things out there that day. The AEW star noted he did it only to get the match going seamlessly. Despite losing the match that night, Joe remains a locker-room hero as evidenced from the clip.
