RiffiThough it’s the holiday season, there is some bad news for AEW and its fans. While Tony Khan is still dealing with Kenny Omega’s absence, two of the most important personnel of the company are set to part ways.

AEW set to lose important personnel

As reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, AEW’s Chief Marketing and Merchandising Officer Dana Massie is set to part ways with the company. Massie has been with the company since its inception back in 2019. She also happens to be the wife of Matt Jackson of the famous Young Bucks. The reason for her departure is not yet revealed. Although it is mentioned that she is “finishing up with AEW.” However, Massie is not the only one leaving the promotion.

Another important backstage personnel leaving AEW is Rafael Morffi. He was the backbone of many live events as Morffi overlooked the promotions live events department. Morffi was the Vice President of Live Events/Touring. He has also been with the company since 2019. According to reports, he is set to leave after their Worlds End pay-per-view on December 30th. While Massie’s next step is still in oblivion, Morffi is all ready for his next gig. According to reports, he has accepted a senior executive position at the Barclays Centre.

Morffi is a prominent name in the pro wrestling industry. Before working with AEW, he worked with TNA and House of Hardcore. He was even a part of WWE’s Live Events team. Morffii used to look over the venue booking and the marketing aspects of live events during his time at AEW. This news came in as a shocker as Tony Khan won’t be having an EVP by his side.

Kenny Omega had made it public a few weeks ago that he would be staying outside the ring for a long time. This news came in as the star was immediately hospitalized. In the post, he mentioned how doctors caught him at the right time. Omega has been suffering from a slew of injuries for a very long time. This is his second hiatus due to medical reasons after he returned in August of 2022.

Omega is one of the EVPs of the company that established AEW in 2019. While he is out of action and two managerial people leaving the company, the workload might end up on Khan, Youngbucks, and Hangman Adam Page’s shoulders. How do you think Tony Khan will deal with this massive blow?
