Ricochet’s time in WWE seems to be coming to an end. A few days ago, PWInsider claimed that the wrestler had communicated to WWE his departure from the company when his contract expires this summer. Fightful added that the creative team already had several plans on the table to take him off television seamlessly. And, apparently, it finally took place tonight at WWE RAW.

Bron Breakker appeared backstage to ambush his two rivals, Ilja Dragunov and Ricochet. After connecting the Spear that couldn’t get through Dragunov in front of the crowd, the former NXT champion initiated a brutal attack on Ricochet that took them both into the parking lot of the Huntington Center.

It was there that Bron Breakker pierced a windshield with Ricochet’s body as he slammed the high flyer into the vehicle. With suspected injuries to his back, the fighter was laid on a stretcher and left the venue inside an ambulance.

His wife, Samantha Irvin, accompanied him as he gave a brief thumbs-up signal. And this was possibly the last appearance for Prince Puma, who is now being rumored to join the ranks of All Elite Wrestling. Something that surely wasn’t approved by CM Punk. The Cult of Personality wrote a subtle warning message on the WWE’s recent clip of Ricochet’s beatdown.

WWE often uploads videos of the highlight moments of their shows on their social media. So it was no surprise when they decided to upload the clip for the brutal beat down courtesy of Bron Breakker. However, what surprised many was the top comment on the post. It was none other than CM Punk who took that spot. The Cult of Personality felt punny when he commented, “RIP-ochet,” which many believe is a jibe at Ricochet’s move to switch companies and finally join Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling.

However, other superstars, such as Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland, believe that Prince Puma would be a great signing for the promotion. And that the WWE has underutilized him. He did enjoy a stellar start in the promotion. He signed with WWE in 2018, entering the developmental territory. The wrestler had a very successful first stint in NXT, where he managed to win the NXT North American Championship and the Tag Team Championship of the brand with Aleister Black.

In 2019, Ricochet gained his entry to the main roster. He won the United States Championship and the Intercontinental Championship over the years. The latter he would lose to Gunther, who would eventually set the record for the longest reign in history. In recent weeks, Ricochet had become the first WWE Speed Champion in history. However, he has only been limited to the mid-card and is often used as an enhancement talent to push huge guys over. Something that might’ve irked Ricochet to make the transfer. What do you think? Should Ricochet join AEW? What did you make of CM Punk’s supposed dig at the high-flyer’s next career destination? Let us know in the comments.
