Just a week after successfully defending the Women’s World Championship against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40, Rhea Ripley had to vacate the title due to a serious shoulder injury suffered at the hands of Liv Morgan. So now Ripley will be missing action for a few more months while her fans await a date of return for Mami.
But while she’s away from WWE programming, it seems like All Elite Wrestling fans can still get to see Ripley, as she was recently spotted backstage at AEW’s Double or Nothing PPV. So, like Becky Lynch, can another major WWE superstar switch sides to join the Tony Khan-led promotion now? Let’s find out.

All Elite Wrestling recently held their Double or Nothing PLE at the MGM Grand Arena. The event surely was a spectacle to watch, with several amazing moments, such as the much-awaited return of MJF. However, MJF’s wasn’t the only surprise appearance scheduled for the night. Rhea Ripley was spotted backstage at the event, as reported by Fightful. In fact, she was seen very near Tony Khan, as he too was backstage at the event. However, before AEW fans can get all excited about a new transfer, it is worth revealing that Ripley’s appearance had nothing to do with her jumping ship to a new promotion.

Instead, she was there to visit her fiancé, Buddy Matthews. Matthews was scheduled to appear in the match between Adam Copeland and Malakai Black. And this was the sole reason behind the appearance. But fret not, as several sources claim that Ripley will be back by SummerSlam. So fans will get to see ‘Mami’ back on their screens. But who would she fight next? An unorthodox contender put up an intriguing proposition to the WWE to incorporate her in a feud against The Judgment Day star.
Jordynne Grace proposes an interesting stipulation
Since Rhea Ripley stepped away from WWE programming because of a shoulder injury, Liv Morgan has capitalized on her ‘Revengeance Tour’ by winning the Women’s World Championship against Becky Lynch at King and Queen of the Ring and kissing Dominik Mysterio as a sign that she wants to take everything away from Ripley.

This has led to various stipulations being raised for an eventual fight when ‘The Eradicator’ returns. Recently, Jordynne Grace, too, proposed a curious stipulation. Through her X account, Grace indicated that she would like to see a ladder match between Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan for custody of Dominik Mysterio. This emulates what Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero did in SummerSlam 2005.
Over the years, Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero maintained a long-standing feud, which came to a head when ‘Latino Heat’ began to doubt the authenticity of Mysterio’s paternity. Claiming that he was Dominik Mysterio’s real father. This led to a ladder match where the custody of the then-child Dominik Mysterio was at stake. The match was won by ‘The Master of the 619’, who took back the custody of his son. So should the WWE book another custody match? Let us know in the comments.
