After her shocking departure from WWE, Renee Young (now going by her real name Paquette) is mostly staying at home. Renee felt the need to explore new opportunities after 8 years with the company.

After her “love letter” to WWE on Players’ Tribune, Renee appeared on the Sports Illustrated podcast and talked about her old life in WWE and whether she is moving to AEW.

Renee Young Reveals Future AEW Plans

Renee’s husband, Jon Moxley (formerly known as Dean Ambrose), made the shift to AEW last year. Renee revealed that it was difficult for her to work in the absence of  Moxley.

“One of the things that I did find a little bit difficult in the past year or so was not working with Jon. To be in different places, and not even the fact of not working together, it was almost pretending he didn’t exist. That’s hard. I found that to be a little bit like, ‘Oh my god. I can’t even tweet about him?’

She says she has no intention of signing up with AEW for now.

“There has been no talks [with AEW]. Literally, the second anybody leaves WWE it’s ‘they’re going to AEW.’ Obviously, I knew it was going to come up. What I found interesting is, as much as I assumed that’s what everyone was going to say, more people were like, ‘She’s going to work for FOX or ESPN.’ A lot of people saw me leaving the wrestling world, which I was surprised by…”

However, she hopes, “there could be a ton of spots that I could step in and work and do some stuff there.”

Renee Paquette is currently in Jacksonville to support her husband for the upcoming AEW All Out event. Jon Moxley will defend his AEW World Championship against MJF. However, we don’t expect Renee to make an appearance.

Renee Paquette is still under Fox Sports’ contract and wants to navigate that situation with her former employer. She also spoke about the possibility of starting her own podcast in the future.
