MJF has been sidelined by All Elite Wrestling programming since late last year. After losing the company’s World Championship, the pro wrestler stepped away from the action to recover from several injuries, including a torn labrum that he has tried to heal by alternative means, such as regenerative medicine, in order to avoid going under the knife.
In the meantime, his future at the company remains a recurring theme. But now we have an update on that front as Tony Khan revealed his thoughts on having MJF in AEW.

In the post-media scrum after AEW’s Dynasty PPV, Tony Khan was asked about the return of MJF. Answering the question, Khan revealed that he would love to have him in the company. Much to the relief of the fans of arguably one of the biggest heels in the industry. The AEW head honcho said, “MJF, one of the biggest stars in AEW, we haven’t seen him in recent months, and I would love to get MJF back here soon, sooner than later, really soon … Everything’s going so great for AEW right now, and that would be something that would add a lot. That’d be awesome to have MJF back, and soon. I would love that.”

Although many media outlets assume that MJF and AEW reached a renewal agreement, both parties continue to play with the notion of a potential departure to maintain the interest of fans. It comes as no surprise that WWE would want to sign one of the most highly sought-after wrestlers across the industry if he was available. It is worth remembering that the Florida-based promotion removed MJF’s profile from the roster page of its official website. At the moment, clarity over whether he can compete in the ring remains unclear, although his physical problems have not prevented him from holding talks with the company. According to the specialized media PW Insider, MJF was backstage at AEW Dynamite Big Business to meet with company officials.
The former World Champion was one of the great protagonists of AEW in 2023. After winning the company’s World Championship, the wrestler began one storyline that gained plaudits from the fans. He teamed up with Adam Cole, starring in big segments, and even conquered the ROH World Tag Team Titles. However, Cole’s injury forced some plans to change, culminating in the storyline of “The Devil” and MJF’s loss at AEW World’s End. So what do you think? Will Tony Khan and MJF find a way to bring back MJF to the promotion soon? Or should the Devil join WWE? Let us know in the comments.
