As he makes his way through the wrestling industry, Tony Khan is undoubtedly feeling the heat. Even though AEW just started in 2019, Khan is still annoyed by how many people compare it to WWE. Khan maintains his stance that AEW’s criticism is unfounded, even when its originality is being questioned.
Reduced ticket sales compared to prior years have been an ongoing problem, adding stress to AEW’s already heavy workload. Now, Eric Bischoff stokes the flames by blaming Tony Khan and AEW for the underwhelming ticket sell-out at Dynamite venues.

AEW and WWE always battle over ticket sales to see which pro wrestling company is more popular with the fans. Eric Bischoff recently threw shade at AEW and Tony Khan with a tweet on X highlighting the gap in ticket sales for AEW. In fact, the post even mocked the pro wrestling outfits for this underachievement.
According to Eric Bischoff, “When they are struggling to sell out a 3,097-seat venue 24 hours before a live episode of their “A” show, I’d say it’s pretty pathetic.” The tweet carried a screenshot of a tweet made by Wrestletix which showed that AEW’s 14th February match had 309 seats left out of 3097.

This really is a significant number for Tony Khan and his company. 309 unsold seats mean that ten percent of the arena will have vacant spots despite Tony Khan heavily promoting his show. The promotion for the AEW Dynamite event and its poster suggested that it will showcase highly anticipated AEW wrestlers. However, Bischoff seems to have caught AEW not making the cut it had hoped for.

Interestingly, however, a new development seems to have shifted the narrative in favor of Tony Khan. In fact, Eric Bischoff may have let his jack out of the box way too quickly.
AEW to have the last laugh?
Early ticket sales for the event, reported by Wrestletix, showed that the 14th February event was only targeting 3,097 AEW fans. However, it was also noted that the number of seats could increase if the public demand warrants for it. Interestingly, it turns out that the public really is demanding what Tony Khan has to offer.
While Bischoff’s insult was based on a tweet that was almost a day old, the current data at Wrestletix shows a different story. AEW still has 240 unsold tickets, but, now the max capacity has increased to 3218.
