In the latest buzz, Adam Copeland (formerly known as Edge) has been in the front page news for joining AEW. The former WWE champion spent the best part of his 25 years with WWE until he flipped the script to arrive at AEW’s WrestleDream pay-per-view and shock the fans inside the arena. In fact, boss Tony Khan even confirmed that Copeland would be an integral part of the company and was on a full-time contract.

As some of you may now know, I’m no longer with WWE. My new home is AEW. I’m excited. Whole new roster. Some familiar faces that I wanted to work with again and a whole set of first ever matches. New challenges, and if you’ve followed my career, you know…

Even the statements of the former WWE champion on X made it evident what he was looking forward to. He revealed that AEW was his new home, and he was excited to start the proceedings with new challenges ahead. Indeed, watching him wrestle a cluster of astounding talents in AEW would keep the fans entertained; however, Edge must not forget the history of injuries suffered before taking any step in the new promotion. Now that he has plenty of new challenges in front of him, how tough would it be for the legend to display his prowess after having sustained unimaginable pain in the past?
Entering the squared circle despite injury concerns is a brave move for Edge
Edge is going to battle Luchasaurus on the 4th anniversary of AEW’s Dynamite. This match, in fact, is going to be the first for Edge in a completely novel setup. However, being a regular for AEW, there are a string of obstacles waiting for the veteran. Knowing that he has suffered some gruesome injuries in the past that nearly ended his career, Edge is yet again going to wrestle for the fans.
From a torn Achilles tendon to a devastating neck injury, Edge has suffered quite miserably while entertaining the WWE universe. Moreover, teetering on the brink of a neck injury, Edge called it quits in 2011. It was all because of a severe injury sustained by the veteran while he fought WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero in 2003. Since then, it has kept haunting him as it grew with the passage of time. Being determined to return, Edge never lost hope and made his return in 2020. Edge, however, had to put his fortitude to the test when, at Backlash 2020, he sustained a triceps injury that necessitated surgery during a highly anticipated match against Randy Orton. He set out on a path of restoration and returned once again.

Experiencing a barrage of severe pain might be his biggest concern, considering his regular contract with AEW. Notably, he has announced that he will appear regularly on AEW. Had there been someone else in this situation, he might have signed a part-time contract with the company, but this surely is not the case for Edge. How brave is this decision for Edge? It will be revealed further as we move ahead, but right now he is planning to present a unique spectacle for the fans.
Predicting the possible feuds for Edge in AEW
Shifting the focus to the next chapter would be quite intriguing. Getting a chance to witness Copeland in AEW was a completely astonishing scenario for the fans. Straightaway, Copeland is going to indulge in some sort of storyline with his real-life best friend, Christian Cage. While it has not been confirmed how exactly the story between these two will play out, they are likely to cross paths at one point.
Speaking of Edge’s probable feuds, how great would that be for the fans to witness yet another showdown between two former WWE stars who were raised in quite a similar fashion in WWE? Yes! Edge vs. Chris Jericho could be another match that could possibly happen while Edge is with the company. Though both have encountered each other multiple times, they might present another great showdown to the fans for the first time in AEW.

Since he couldn’t do it in his second run in WWE, the Canadian might want to put his hands on the AEW world title, and in order to do that, he first has to defeat MJF.
