Will Pentagon Jr. thrive in WWE, or is he better off staying with AEW?

Wrestling fans have been waiting for a decisive move from Pentagón Jr. which decides his fate in the industry. As of now, the wrestler is still signed to AEW and a new social media post suggests that it might stay this way for a while. The Mexican luchador has put on exhilarating performances for the wrestling faithful in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

As his contract with Tony Khan’s wrestling company edges closer to expiry, rumors started coming in that he may be headed to WWE along with Rey Fenix. But Penta’s latest post on social media suggests what he might be planning to do.

The reports from a few weeks ago claimed that The Lucha Bros might leave AEW for WWE. Although there wasn’t any addition to this information in the coming days, Penta’s social media shines a light on what he might be planning to do. The wrestler’s contract with AEW, according to online sources, ends on August 31st this year. Fans believed that he might become a free agent or join WWE following the contract expiry. However, he recently uploaded a picture of himself on social media; a picture that is licensed and used by AEW on its website.

Although he is technically still under contract, this might foreshadow that the wrestler is staying with the person for longer than we expected. On the contrary, it might also mean that he is free now because he had filed for the rights of his in-ring name earlier, suggesting that he was planning to leave. Either way, it seems like WWE is involved in whatever decision Penta ends up making.

A few days ago, news came flying in about some talent-related tensions between WWE and AEW. Ever since the latter promotion was founded, there have been several talent exchanges. Wrestlers find themselves jumping ship for better profits and perks. Counter-offers work the best in negotiation for such competitive companies. We have seen that Tony Khan tends to get a higher hand in this game because he is privy to offering higher-paying contracts, sometimes signing talents only to use them rarely but still giving them their paychecks.

While all of this seems to be the norm in the wrestling industry, Tony Khan recently complained about how WWE tends to interfere in contractual talks with the talents that he wishes to hire. When this reached more and more media handles, this notion gained virality. Eventually, it caught the attention of Triple H. The Game didn’t try to cover up the accusation. Instead, he trolled his business rival by liking the post that contained the complaint about the interference. This move also suggested that the Stamford-based company is probably not stopping anytime soon and may actively be involved in Pentagon Jr’s negotiations.
