For decades, there has been an unwavering war between WWE and other promotions. There was a time when WWE had locked horns with WCW, ECW, TNA, and many more. Moreover, history repeated itself once again in modern times since Tony Khan’s AEW came into existence. The promotion graced the audiences back in 2019 and since then has put on numerous scintillating shows. Despite trying to establish itself as a unique product, it often gets dragged into the conversation as many try to compare it to WWE. While Tony Khan has received online backlash from fans on various occasions, this time it looks like fans have some polite words for the President of AEW.

Tony Khan bestowed gifts onto WWE superstars in 2015

An old photograph of Khan resurfaced recently in which we can see him standing along with former WWE 24/7 Champion Titus O’Neil. The official WWE Universe account posted the photograph in 2015. The caption read, Tonight in #WWEJacksonville, Tony Khan, son of the owner of the @Jaguars, came bearing gifts for the #WWE Superstars!” O’Neil wore a Jacksonville Jaguars hoodie in the photo.

Apart from being the president of AEW, Khan is the Senior President of Football and Analytics of the NFL team, Jacksonville Jaguars, which is owned by his father. Apart from that, he also happened to be a former vice-chairman and director of football operations of the Fulham Football Club.

For those who are unfamiliar with Khan’s background, he was born to a Pakistani-American businessman, Shahid Khan. His father owns the Flex-N-Gate and together the father-son duo operates their sports entertainment business.

Despite all of that, fans are aware of his love for pro wrestling, which made him establish AEW in the first place. After the photo resurfaced, fans had some pleasant words to say about Khan.

Fans stated that it is not a shocking thing that Khan was seen backstage gifting WWE stars some Jaguar merch. They also pointed out that amidst the heated WWE vs AEW war, people have forgotten that ultimately he is a pro wrestling fan, just like them.

One fan mentioned that it was a nice gesture from his end.

Another fan mentioned that Khan being a pro wrestling fan is no no-brainer as he grew up in the 90s.

One fan reminded everyone that he is still a fan.
