The members of The Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, have been free agents since April 1 and shortly after they were linked with AEW. The information from about two months ago pointed out that they were very close to signing with the company, but so far it has not happened, and the last we have heard is that WWE has been in talks with them recently.
In a new update on the matter, Pro Wrestling Nexus has reported that Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin’s agent has already received offers from WWE and AEW, and now it is their turn to decide which path to take in their careers. In principle, and at least at the moment, it seems that they are leaning more towards the WWE option. And now they have even said goodbye to the Indies circuit.

Commentary said during the match that the MCMG were getting ready to enter a new chapter in their careers and that tonight may be the last time we see them in Prestige. 👀 #CombatClashPDX pic.twitter.com/NKulabXKgD

As recently, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley had their last match at Prestige. But wouldn’t they be able to still work in the indies if they joined AEW? This is a point that was surely caught by pro wrestling fans, as they believe that the commentators surely revealed their next destination. Which definitely seems to be the Stamford-based promotion.
Fans believe that the MCMG are surely headed to work with Triple H
After a match at Prestige Combat Clash PDX where Chris Sabin defeated Alex Shelley, commentators noted that The Motor City Machine Guns were preparing for a new chapter in their careers, and that night could have been their last in the company. After the fight, both fighters hugged and said goodbye to the audience. And it surely seemed that this was Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley’s farewell to the independent scene. This made the fans believe that the iconic tag duo was surely headed to the WWE. As the Stamford-based promotion has the clause that if you work for them, you cannot fight in other promotions.
Sounds like they going to WWE

What’s your perspective on:
Are the Motor City Machine Guns destined for AEW or WWE? Where do you want to see them next?
Have an interesting take?
This AEW fan surely wanted them to be a part of All Elite Wrestling instead. However, being the kind-hearted samaritan, he still wished them the very best for their future.
I would have liked to see them in AEW, but I wish them the best in WWE

One fan was quick to notice what was hinted at by the commentator. As he was aware of WWE’s policy of not letting superstars be a part of the events held by other promotions.
This usually means WWE which doesn't allow talent to work indy shows.

While some fans were not happy with the decision. They believed the duo would’ve been a better fit for All Elite Wrestling. As both Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley are above 40 now. And considering the fact that the WWE is saturated with young talents right now, it seems tough that the MCMG will be kept in the main event scene for long.
Like this fan definitely did not want them to be a part of the Stamford-based promotion. But now that they are most likely headed there, he hopes the MCMG gets a good contract. As the WWE surely can offer good pay that no other could afford.
If they go to wwe that’s BS to me but hopefully they get good contracts 👌🏽💯
I want them in AEW so bad

While this AEW fan wanted the MCMG to still be a part of the indies. Something that is only possible if they are a part of AEW.
I just want them to go to AEW so that they can still work DPW and Prestige shows

But no matter what promotion they join, they surely would be a great fit. As The Motor City Machine Guns form one of the most important teams in TNA history and are known throughout the wrestling industry. Since they left TNA in April, they have been fighting for independent promotions. There they have been proving why they are still on top of their game. And now it is only a matter of time before we find out what happens to their futures. What do you think? Are they going to be a part of the WWE roster soon? Let us know in the comments.
