Does MJF's Shawn Michaels-inspired outfit make him the new 'Heartbreak Kid' of AEW?

MJF stepped into the Wembley tonight to defend his American Championship title against England native Will Ospreay. While the match is going in full swing with both sides expanding maximum effort, it’s MJF’s unique gear that came out as the real eye-turner of the match. In a bid to attract heat from the vociferous English crowd, the champion resorted to making his American roots loud and clear.

After the crowd was done being dumbstruck at his larger-than-life odd-fit outfit, they seemed to find the root of it.

Hollywood and wrestling have been going hand in hand for decades. In WWE, several stars like John Cena and The Rock are running highly successful careers on the silver screen simultaneously with their in-ring priorities taking a backseat. So, dragging up cinema and paying homage to the medium in entertainment combat sports always makes sense. The poster boy of AEW also seems to find a rousing call to stir up the masses in it, as he always does. Hence, the 28-year-old fighter didn’t hesitate to come out in an American flag suit with an uncanny hat to stir up new talk in the town. The real figure behind the eerie dress-up is, however, the famous Apollo Creed from Rocky IV.

It will be interesting to see if anything more comes up about the Devil’s experimental All-In gear going forward. The Salt of the Earth has always been very diverse when it comes to his in-ring gear. He has even pulled in Triple H’s iconic look in the past.

Amidst the rampant rumor of a possible WWE rejoining, the Devil dampened all talks of a switch during a banger Double or Nothing in Las Vegas. MJF wanted to let people know he was seated in his current stint in AEW and looked to WWE for inspiration as he cut a creative promo. But fortunately or unfortunately, it was his attire that got people talking the most.

The self-acclaimed Better than You was dressed in a denim jacket with black sleeves, resembling much of WWE’s Triple H’s signature look. The Hunter donned a similar jacket when he made a triumphant return from injury back in 2002. His warm crowd reception has still been a cherished memory in the company’s history.

Fans called out MJF for stealing that look for the day. However, they hailed the AEW star for pulling in the same positive body transformation as Triple H did during his return segment 22 years back.

However, coming back to MJF’s tonight’s fate, Wembley has not been very kind to him since he had to drop his AEW American Championship to Ospreay due to Daniel Garcia’s timely intervention.
