MJF has been long-rumored to dip his feet in the Stamford-based company upon his AEW term expiration, However, he penned a multi-year deal later with the company. The Salt of the Earth is currently poised to feature in his upcoming match against Daniel Garcia at AEW All-In. Tony Khan has shown his full faith in him in return, putting big money on the table. Tony Khan and MJF seemed to bond well professionally as the former revealed how often he communicates with the former AEW World champion to check in on him. MJF not only served the AEW head honcho as merely a wrestler for what he gets paid for, rather he also helped Khan with new creative ideas to grab more eyeballs and generate more business.
Although some rumors cited that the OG AEW member was pissed at Khan primarily for seeing some newcomers earn more than him, the difference between them was never visible. His recent contract renewal made the footing even more firm. But out of nowhere, a massive discord in his AEW relationship was spotted on social media, specifically on his official Instagram handle. Khan’s MJF booking garners heat
This is not new for the AEW boss to be called out by the wrestling community for his faulty booking decisions. The latest one came from an experienced journalist, Bill Apter, who pointed out how WWE was a better choice for MJF. The discussion in question revolves around the upcoming match of MJF in AEW against Daniel Garcia.
As per his judgment, a collision against Garcia in such an important PLE will lower MJF’s momentum. The argument in favor of his stance is Garcia’s lesser impact on the division, at least compared to a classic superstar like MJF. The budding star doesn’t hold a candle to the former AEW World champion’s marquee status and potentially won’t draw as much money as Khan intends.
