Maxwell Jacob Friedman has been on the rise at AEW due to his snarky attitude and his in-ring skills. The 27-year-old star has proven to be a valuable asset for the promotion whether it is for promos or from wrestling. If he is a valuable asset for AEW, it makes him a valuable asset for any other promotion. Amidst the rumors of him being acquired by WWE, Friedman cleared the air about his departure from the Jacksonville-based promotion.
MJF might not be going anywhere soon
The current AEW Champion, who is seen on the Dynamite brand of the promotion, was seen at a backstage interview. The 27-year-old star was wearing a jacket that had the number 2024 written on it on the right side. On the left side, it looks like the letters MJF had been printed there. This was enough of a hint for fans to realize that The Two Year Vet is not leaving his stomping grounds anytime soon.

The star’s contract with AEW is set to expire in 2024. He had previously said in a couple of interviews that whichever company provides him the most money, he will go there. He was 19 years old when he participated in his first match at Five Borough Wrestling, based out of New York. After a bit of a struggle, the star was signed by the promotion, back in 2019.
However, as much as it feels that he won’t be making a transition to WWE, there are incidences that hint at his debut at WWE.
Where will MJF end up, if not AEW?
According to reports, MJF’s contract with AEW is set to expire by January 2024. This was part of a five-year deal that was struck between the star and the promotion. However, there are no reports of him extending his stay at AEW. According to Fightful Select, there are no confirmations about his contract extension or his staying with the promotion for some more time.

Also, there has been word spreading in the industry that MJF has told someone “I am looking forward to being there in 2024” with ‘there’ speculated to be WWE. These are all just reports and there are no official confirmations as of now. The self-proclaimed ‘Generational Talent’ has made a name for himself due to his in-ring and mic skills. He is also known for his witty and funny promos at AEW. Due to this, he has a huge fan base and may cause a bidding war between the two promotions. Where do you think MJF will fit more? AEW or WWE?
