MJF was absent from programming after losing the AEW World Championship to Samoa Joe at Worlds End. For months, he had been dealing with various injuries that he dragged during his reign. This led him to ultimately take a break. But finally, after weeks and weeks of talks about a possible imminent return, it has ended up happening.

This Saturday, at AEW Double or Nothing, MJF made his return by interrupting a promo by Adam Cole. The Devil stepped into the ring, gave Cole a hug, and immediately delivered a low blow to him. MJF later gave a promo in which he destroyed the mask of ‘The Devil’ and showed a tattoo on his ankle with the AEW logo. The tattoo read “Bet on yourself”. Making his renewal with the company official. But now, what’s next for the superstar?

Well, AEW sure has some creative plans for MJF. And that includes some new themes for the heel! Las Vegas, Nevada, saw Adam Cole appear before fans to talk about his role as The Devil. Suddenly, the lights in the arena went out and revealed a short video starring MJF. In the video, a man can be seen taking the MJF ring and a Burberry scarf. And then in came the greatest heel AEW has ever seen as the star returned to a standing ovation by the crowd.

In his return, the former AEW World champion announced that he had renewed with the company. And now details have been revealed about his continuity in AEW and his return to the PPV.

As reported by Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select, AEW Double or Nothing was the target set for MJF’s return. In fact. it has been for a while.

The fighter wore a brace on his arm at all times in recent weeks. All to throw everyone off. Leading up to his return, there were several additional MJF themes prepared. Just like the orchestral version that was heard in his promo. And now that he’s back, the plan is to involve him in a very important feud. “There have been additional MJF themes prepared by Mikey Rukus, including the orchestral version you heard on the promo, and a piano version. There have also been significant creative plans in order for MJF to be involved in a top feud.”

As for his contract renewal, Fightful has confirmed that MJF has signed a multi-million dollar contract to continue in AEW for a few more years. Most of the roster expected him to return to this show. However no one actually saw him before he appeared at the event. MJF is undoubtedly one of the great attractions of All Elite Wrestling. And it has especially been proven in the last two years. At the moment, the big news is that MJF is back, and now we have to wait to find out when he will fight again.
