This is indeed a startling update for the fans, as MJF just fought a world title match on Saturday, but now his name is not on the official roster. This is keeping with MJF’s statements that his contract comes up on January 1st of 2024.

With this update, the speculation around the contract decision of MJF has reached a fever pitch. Amidst all this, AEW’s head honcho, Tony Khan, was also asked for his opinion on MJF’s future with the AEW on Saturday. Addressing the question, AEW’s president remained reserved.

Tony Khan’s take on MJF’s future with the company

MJF’s AEW contract is almost over. The prospect of the former world champion is now under intense scrutiny by the fans. But in this regard, the AEW boss, Tony Khan, didn’t have much to say when he addressed a question in the recent media scrum.
