Divorce drama: Is Mercedes Moné's husband getting unfairly roasted, or does he deserve the backlash?

A few days ago, TMZ reported after a series of rumors that Mercedes Mone and Sarath Ton had decided to end their marriage that began in 2016. Finally, she herself came out publicly to talk about the matter. In a video on her YouTube channel, Mercedes Mone confirmed the news of her divorce. She revealed that she would sign the papers to make it official.

The CEO revealed that they have been separated since late 2020. However, she didn’t want to tell Vince McMahon because she was unsure about how he would react. This was because she was in a story with Carmella and Reggie. And, according to Mone, McMahon was so obsessed with her and Reggie within the story so much that she thought he wanted to bring them together. Mercedes Mone mentioned that she also decided not to reveal it because she did not want people to impart judgment.

Luckily for them, the relationship has ended on good terms. As she said, “We have such a great relationship, and he’s such an amazing, incredible guy that I’m so thankful for. He’s another person that changed and saved my life. But I’m excited to be free and to say that I’m finally getting a divorce.” However, it seems like Dutch Mantell wasn’t a big fan of her ex-husband and his relationship with Mone. He revealed the tidbit in his podcast.

On his Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast, the legendary manager said, “I’m sitting there one day when I was with WWE, and she was down there at a table, like looking at colors or looking at patterns or looking at something or and he was there, and I think he was, he has, I think he works, he’s a seamstress or something. Yeah. And I asked Jack Swagger. I said, Who’s that guy with Mercedes down there?’And he went; ‘that’s her husband. I went, what? That guy is her husband. He said, Yeah. That’s, he’s an ugly little b**tard anyway. I mean, and I don’t know him. He could be a great guy. But him and her look like the most unnatural people to ever find each other and get together. I didn’t get it. I mean, he didn’t match her.”

In WWE, Sarath Ton works primarily as a costume designer, creating costumes for high-profile wrestlers. His work gained plaudits for his creativity and attention to detail, helping to shape the visual presentations of the superstars. So, now that the two are divorced, does Mone have anyone else in her life?

She stated that she is not yet ready to start dating someone and that, in particular, she is not interested in dating someone from a rival promotion. The TBS Champion said, “And to those asking, no, I am NOT ready to start dating yet. And I definitely cannot see myself dating anyone from a Rival Promotion! Right now, this year is the year of WORKING and FIGHTING! I want this year to be ALL HUSTLE and ALL FLOW! I feel like when the right person comes to me, I’ll know it. But right now, my head is just so focused on work at AEW. Achieving what Tony and I discussed, and all my goals.”

Since winning the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship in AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door by defeating Stephanie Vaquer, Mercedes Mone has not had the opportunity to put the championship on the line. NJPW has announced that Mercedes Moné will be in the ring at Capital Collision 2024. The NJPW Women’s Champion STRONG will fight during the event, but so far, it has not been confirmed who she will face or if the title she holds will be on the line.
