For quite a long time, rumors have been circulating on the internet about the return of the Hardy brothers in WWE. And some even ventured that it could happen at WrestleMania. But while that did not happen, Matt Hardy did recently attend a recent edition of Monday Night Raw.
Despite refuting claims that a WWE return was imminent during WrestleMania week, his attendance during Raw only poured gasoline on an emerging fire. A similar trend repeated itself as he reflected on a key encounter against a WWE legend. His recent social media post might’ve teased an encounter against Brock Lesnar.
Matt Hardy to feud with the Beast?

Matt Hardy recently took to his Instagram where he shared a throwback video for the fans to rejoice. The clip featured Hardy saving his brother Jeff Hardy from Brock Lesnar by hitting the Beast with a chair shot. Captioning the post, “22 years ago today, says the ‘net…”, Hardy might’ve just teased a feud with the Beast. After all, this post goes against his claim of not wanting any ties with the Stamford-based promotion.

It is also worth noting that just last night Triple H revealed the status of Brock Lesnar in the WWE. So the Beast may make his return soon, and what’s better for a first feud than a match with another returning superstar? Who, by the way, is not a part of AEW anymore. As Matt Hardy is finally a free agent.
Hardy leaves All Elite Wrestling

Matt Hardy has decided not to renew his expiring contract with All Elite Wrestling and is therefore a free agent. As reported by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Matt Hardy is officially a free agent. The former WWE star had received an offer to renew his contract with All Elite Wrestling but had previously stated his intention to reflect on it, to evaluate his plans in the world of wrestling.
But in the last few hours, reports suggested that he has refused a renewal with AEW, so his contract expired tonight. Sean Ross Sap wrote, “Matt Hardy is officially a free agent, Fightful Select has learned. He’d been in talks to remain with AEW, but his contract expired at midnight and he’s said he chose to not sign a deal offered to him. We’ll have more details as they emerge.”

Matt Hardy joined AEW in March 2020 during the beginning of the pandemic. When Jeff Hardy too signed with AEW. However, Jeff Hardy has been missing from action after receiving an injury against Sammy Guevara.
