In recent months, WWE has experienced a peculiar situation when it comes to the contracts of its superstars. Big names such as Drew McIntyre, Becky Lynch, and Seth Rollins have been involved in this situation where their contracts with the company have been about to expire or have ended, as has been the case with ‘The Man’.

Apart from these names, we find Ricochet on that list, since a couple of days ago reports suggested that his contract with WWE would end this summer. Nevertheless, optimism remained intact that both the company and the wrestler would engage in talks about an extension. However, All Elite Wrestling too has joined the race, and it seems like Ricochet will be leaving the Stamford-based promotion.

Ricochet has garnered an immaculate reputation for being one of the best acrobatic fighters on the planet. Every time he enters the ring, he surprises fans with new moves. However, he has not had too many notable victories or achievements in WWE in the six years he has been with the company. So far, he has won the United States Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, and the NXT North American Championship once. He also was the WWE Speed Champion up until recently with Andrade stealing it from his clutches.

But despite this, Ricochet lacks major silverware in his six-year run so far. Despite these roadblocks, the opportunity to be alongside his fiance Samantha Irvin in WWE and increased TV time in recent weeks would propel him to renew his deal with WWE according to many fans. Nevertheless, it seems his frustrations have reached a boiling point with ‘Prince Puma’ not looking forward to re-signing with the promotion.

According to PW Insider, “Ricochet has informed WWE that he intends to leave the company when his contract expires this summer. He is expected to be written off TV very soon, ahead of his contract coming to an end and his departure. Will Ospreay recently singled out Ricochet as someone he wanted to face in AEW.”

For the unaware, a couple of weeks ago, Will Ospreay spoke about Ricochet. He showed his dissatisfaction with the treatment he receives in WWE. The Aerial Assassin made it clear that he wants him in AEW. After all, Ricochet hasn’t been able to fulfill his potential as a talent in the promotion. Instead, his role primarily revolved around pushing other superstars. With the latest being Andrade. After being eliminated from the King of the Ring, Ricochet uploaded a subtle message on X that, too, says out loud that he is tired of the way the creatives are treating him.

After several years of absence, WWE once again held one of its most prestigious and longest-running tournaments, WWE King and Queen of the Ring. Throughout the weeks, several qualifying matches were held to choose the king, who would later get to face a top title holder for the gold. One match we had for the King of the Ring tournament was between Ricochet and Ilja Dragunov. In the end, it was the latter who won the match. On his X account, the former WWE Speed Champion spoke about this defeat and, therefore, his elimination from the tournament.

He wrote on X, “Honestly, who gives a s**t anymore.” He also uploaded a video where he talked about his loss by saying, “I can train. I can challenge myself. I can give everything I got. But it seems that it’s never enough. It’s never enough, not when it counts. It’s never enough. So, I find myself in this position. Almost every week, I find myself in this position. Something’s gotta change.” It surely looks like the WWE creatives pushed him to the limit. And being made a through-and-through jobber surely frustrated Ricochet. At least enough to decide to quit the promotion. What do you think? Should’ve the WWE treated Ricochet better? Let us know in the comments.
