Is Bobby Lashley jumping ship to AEW the shakeup wrestling needs right now?

Bobby Lashley last competed under the WWE banner on April 12, 2024. Those who were waiting with bated breath to see him in his boots again might receive a hitch now because the All-Mighty is reportedly inching towards a contract end. Just after we came back from a spectacular SummerSlam edition that hosted the breathtaking return of Roman Reigns, another ground-breaking star’s upsetting return update loomed large. It might be a tough pill to swallow, but it’s what it is. Fightful Report suggested that Lashley’s eventual departure is now just a matter of time.

Lashley has been in an incredible storyline alongside the Street Profits as part of the Pride in the Blue brand before being abruptly taken out from the scene. The 48-year-old went to face off against Bloodline’s Tama Tonga alongside Angelo Dawkins on the build-up of the King and Queen of the Ring event but came back taking a nasty bump. The hiatus continues to date with no references to the former World Heavyweight Champion being made on TV.

While the rest of the Street Profits keep on going after the tag team title B-Fab, there is slim to no scope for The Boss to chime in anymore. A lot of WWE stars’ (Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, and Drew McIntyre) active contracts have expired in the recent past and some of them resigned. But in the case of Lashley, he will probably be gone for good.

The All-Mighty might not be active in the ring, but he keeps updating his fans about his whereabouts occasionally. In a recent social media confession, the veteran noted, “Hang around people who show you how to get some money, instead of showing you how they got it. #Business.”

It might be as a reference to his usual WWE gimmicks that always portray him as a no-nonsense money maker and as someone who knows how the business runs. On the other hand, it might be Easter eggs to his highly rumored AEW signing. It will be interesting to see if he ends up jumping ship as early as in the upcoming ALL-In in Wembley or reconsiders his decision about WWE. Wherever he goes, his incredible physique and unmatched prowess will be treated as an asset.
