The wrestling world has encountered one surprising news after another in a span of just a few days. Since WrestleMania 39’s completion, and the news of the WWE and UFC merger came to the surface, two NXT stars were released on request and Vince McMahon was reportedly back in charge of running things from a creative aspect. And now after all this, a popular wrestler, Jay White brushes off Vince McMahon’s promotion while choosing Tony Khan’s AEW.

White has been a prominent free agent for some time now, having attained massive popularity through his performance in other promotions, like the NJPW. And thus, fans were also awaiting to see which promotion does the wrestler choose. WWE was heavily linked with the ‘Switchblade’ And as soon as White made his entry to AEW, things were quite clear.  

The surprising entry of Jay White in AEW

The Switchblade’s astounding arrival to AEW happened during a match between Ricky Starks and Juice Robinson. He came to interrupt the fight and soon started to beat Starks down. Shortly then, the match was declared a no-contest and discontinued.

Fans were ecstatic to see him in AEW, but his choice of promotion also created the buzz. Many people were highly anticipating for him to go for the Stamford-based promotion. But when the mystery got solved, they seemed to support him with the decision, given what has recently transpired in WWE. 

Fans supported the Switchblade for choosing AEW over Vince McMahon’s WWE

It didn’t take much time for fans to come up on social media with their reaction to the first NJPW Grand Slam Champion’s decision. As the rumors of him signing a contract with WWE were already circulating, his AEW entrance came as a shock for many. Fans ended up supporting the star while criticizing McMahon. 

“Everybody thought jay white was going to wwe including myself honestly made the right choice good for jay white yea this is the demise of wwe as we know it as long as Vince is there nothing in wwe is gonna change.”

Some of the fans straight-up declared Jay White’s decision as correct. 

“Made the right choice 🗣️“

“Made the right choice knowing how wwe is booked now since #firevince is back.“

Another comment that was quite common among fans indicated WWE’s fumbling.

There were fans who didn’t think twice before labeling McMahon as the reason behind White’s decision of choosing AEW.

“Vince just had to ruin things and come back with his mustache!That’s it I had it! 😭“

“I feel like if Vince didn’t come back he would have gone to WWE. but let’s see what Tony does with him on AEW.“

WWE has been thrown in apparently into chaos following Vince McMahon’s involvement in the creative. Reportedly, several talents are unhappy and are concerned about where their future lies. As such Jay White’s decision to join AEW seems to make sense to many fans.
