Lately, AEW is showing its ambition in expanding its horizon. One of the recent landmark announcements that the Jacksonville-based promotion came up with is its new wrestling program. Many would have heard the name, AEW Collision along with CM Punk as he is reportedly returning on its premiere on June 17. However, despite the strong hints of the superstar’s return, the ticket sales of the show aren’t that impressive.
Shocking picture of AEW Collision’s ticket sales despite the hints of CM Punk’s return
A recent photo has attracted numerous eyes on the internet since its release. It was posted by WrestleTix and showed the real crowd numbers that AEW Collision has pulled off so far after the sale started. However, the picture didn’t show pleasant numbers, given that the day marks the reported return of the two-time AEW World Champion.

The expected ticket sales would be much higher, but the promotion is currently undergoing a major setback in terms of ticket sales. On the matter, Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston also has his take, which points to the same situation.
He wrote on Twitter, “Definitely not a home run despite strong hints of Punk’s return”

Seeing the picture of ticket sales, everyone’s reaction might be the same as that of Thurston. A few days ago, wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer also presented a similar opinion on the matter.
This in a way indicates AEW needs to do a lot more to garner more responses for their brand-new show. But that being said, one cannot deny the huge efforts that the promotion is putting into promoting Collision.

However, now the entire AEW world is focused on seeing The Voice of the Voiceless making his return. But what is there that’s stopping this piece of news to be confirmed?
The issue between Punk and Tony Khan’s AEW
On Dynamite in Las Vegas, Tony Khan put fans out of their misery when he revealed that the debut edition of Collision will take place in Chicago, Illinois on June 17th. But one thing that remained unconfirmed is Punk’s AEW return.
This is allegedly due to the AEW superstar’s wish to see Ace Steel at shows while the promotion wanted the producer to work remotely. Steel is the only man fired for their part in the backstage fight at All Out.

However, recent reports indicate the involvement of non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and that the issue of Ace Steel being at the shows has been resolved. Now, it remains to be seen when will AEW make an official announcement about Punk’s return to the company.
