Kenny Omega's comeback: Will he reclaim his throne or is his best wrestling days behind him?

Kenny Omega has been out of action since December 2023, and there has been no word on when he will return since then. Fans have been yearning for Omega to get healthy again because the condition he is suffering from is potentially fatal. Although there is now a lot of buzz surrounding Omega, it appears that an update on his condition was just provided by a wrestling analyst.

The Cornerstone is now suffering from diverticulitis, a disorder that causes irregular pouches in the large intestinal wall. These pouches might enlarge and endanger the life of the individual suffering from them and are considered a serious condition. However, Kenny Omega appears to be an exception since medicine has been quite effective for him in the previous six months and he has been recovering pretty well.

Kenny Omega’s health is in excellent recovery condition, as Dave Meltzer just notified fans that he spotted The Cornerstone at the gym. Meltzer even indicated the dates when the return was conceivable and stated that even if the return was not too far away, it would still take some time. The comeback is expected by the end of the year considering the fact that he is also currently suffering from hernia.

Dave Meltzer stated, “He’s getting better, I know that. He’s been in the gym. He is coming back, that’s pretty much the word. I don’t think it’s months and months away. Just the vibe I have is it’ll be before the end of the year…..So that would be mid-September but he didn’t just have the hernia problem. He had a lot of different problems. But, like I said, he is coming back, that’s pretty much the word.”

Did Kenny Omega undergo surgery to address his condition?

Meltzer addressed this in his report stating that if we consider the cases of wrestlers who had this type of surgery, then the recovery usually takes a minimum of four months.

Meltzer also considered the fact that some wrestlers actually push themselves to heal quickly and Omega is in fact one of them. Due to this type of nature of the condition it cannot be perfectly stated when the former AEW World Champion will be returning to the company.
