Will Jinder Mahal's move to AEW be a game-changer or just another overhyped switch?

Jinder Mahal has been a pain in the neck for Tony Khan for a while. The duo traded barbs online regarding Khan’s satirical comment on his audacity to demand a title shot at WWE despite being on a constant losing streak. The AEW boss exposed the double standard of WWE fans, noting how they booed Hook when he got a shot against Samoa Joe but kept silent when Mahal wanted to hit one after another high-stake spot in the company. The argument had been kept the IWC full for a long time, with both parties attacking and counter-attacking each other on Twitter. However, given that the Modern-Day Maharaja has no longer been a part of the Stamford-based company, rumors started to swirl over his potential AEW move.

The idea gets its ground from Mahal showcasing some good spirit toward Tony Khan while WWE veteran Booker T dubbed it as lobbying to enroll his name in the AEW roster next.

Mahal has been a significant figure in WWE over the last 12 years. After a short break from 2014 to 2016, the Indian-origin Stalwart resumed his stint with double enthusiasm and had a lot of success. Despite some bittersweet matches and segments, the 38-year-old earned a lot of money during his second stint. But everything came to an unexpected halt in April 2023, when WWE let him go as part of their mass talent-cutting spree. While the time enabled the star to receive unbridled love and support from his fans and to look out for exciting opportunities outside the WWE as a free agent, Booker T felt Mahal was plotting to be on Khan;’s good grace, eventually leading to an AEW debut.

In the latest episode of his podcast, he noted, ”I see Jinder lobbying man, trying to you know perhaps move towards being All Elite. He made some kind comments towards Tony Khan. That’s a start, that’s a start, that’s where you want to start, right? As well as, of course, Jinder Mahal can go anywhere in the world and work.”

Moving ahead, the Canadian-born recently exposed a bitter truth about WWE’s insider policy.

Mahal kept no grudge regarding his storied journey with WWE, but there were a few heartbreaking moments that directly raised questions about the humanity existing in the company culture.

Jinder Mahal exposed WWE’s double standard following his release

Jinder Mahal and Indus Sher once asked the company to go back to India as Veer had his father’s first death anniversary. But WWE didn’t allow them to go. They were told that they were needed to be on Raw the following week. But the nasty part is, in reality, they had nothing to do with the show. They kept sitting in their room. Pointing out that hypocrisy and inhumane treatment, the WWE mogul added that he was sure to go elsewhere at the start of the year 2024.
