Can Jeff Hardy ever truly redeem himself in the eyes of AEW fans and his brother Matt?

Following his controversial departure from WWE at the end of 2021, Jeff Hardy ended up signing with All Elite Wrestling, where he reunited with his brother Matt Hardy. The Charismatic Enigma claimed that his problems with alcohol were a thing of the past. But shortly after arriving at Tony Khan’s company, he was arrested while intoxicated. Thus forcing the company to suspend him temporarily.

Months later, the iconic one-half of the legendary Hardy Boyz returned to programming to reunite once again with his brother. But it didn’t take long for them to publicly complain about feeling “trapped” on a creative level. Eventually, they both ended up leaving the company to return to work for TNA Wrestling. In this regard, during a recent appearance on Busted Open Podcast, Jeff Hardy was asked about his goals at the Anthem Media company.

“Definitely (my goal in TNA) is to win the TNA Tag Team Titles, basically because I have so much guilt and shame within me still just from AEW giving me an opportunity and even Matt (Hardy) to me breaking trust with my personal issues in real life and so I just wanna make that up to Matt and I can say right here that I will not break TNA’s trust. That is in my past and it feels good to have somewhat of a clean slate with all that stuff and kind of start fresh instead of having that guilt and shame about what I did in a certain world of pro wrestling,” said Jeff Hardy.

At the moment, Matt and Jeff Hardy work for TNA Wrestling as free agents. This is a very common practice in the Anthem Media company. Both got a shot at the World Tag Team Championships on the weekly episode of TNA iMPACT! on July 18. However, a brutal attack by JDC and The System ended with Jeff Hardy being taken off on a stretcher. Something that will keep him away from the action for several weeks. But is he legitimately injured, or is this a way to maybe bring him to SummerSlam?

On the July 18 episode of TNA Impact, Jeff Hardy was stretchered out of the ring. This generated great concern among his fans and within the wrestling community. But fret not, because it seems like the attack was a creative device to justify the fighter’s absence from both Slammiversary and post-event tapings. It has been revealed that the real reason behind his departure is that he cannot fly to Canada. All due to his past legal issues as they prevent him from participating in events outside the United States.

This incident has increased speculation about his immediate future in TNA and the potential impact on the storylines planned for Slammiversary, one of the most important events on TNA’s calendar. Hardy, known for his risky fighting style and career marked by ups and downs, now faces a new uncertainty. The concern centers on how TNA will handle his absence and adjust the narratives previously established for Slammiversary.
