The American Nightmare before making his return to the Stamford-based federation played a crucial role in the formation and setting up of All Elite Wrestling. In the Tony Khan-led promotion, the essence of his character was amplified by the presence of Double A Arn Anderson as his manager throughout the experience. Despite retiring nearly a quarter of a century ago, Arn Anderson is still considered one of the most well-known entities in pro wrestling.

The former American professional wrestler signed up for the Jacksonville-based promotion back in 2019. Cody and Anderson created a perfect pairing. However, with the departure of the former and the return to WWE, this duo broke up. However, Anderson also left AEW at the end of May, and ever since there have been rumors and speculations about him joining the WWE and becoming the manager of the current WWE Universal Champion. Now, it seems like the wish has been fulfilled as Anderson was just spotted in the WWE alongside the American Nightmare.

Tonight, the 2024 edition of SummerSlam is taking place inside the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland. In the main event of the show, Cody Rhodes is going one-on-one against Solo Sikoa. Before the match, Rhodes walked backstage and met Anderson, who, as an efficient manager, gave some advice to the former AEW star ahead of the match against Solo Sikoa. So is Anderson Rhodes’ manager again? Well, unfortunately for fans, it seems like this was a one-off. Recently, Anderson was present on Busted Open Radio where he was asked about meeting with Cody Rhodes in WWE. The WWE Hall of Famer was open to this possibility but commented that both parties had not seriously discussed it.

He said, “… would I come back in the right situation for a short-term something with Cody? If anybody out there thinks it’s a good idea, let me know — I don’t know. That would be something because he and I never had that conversation, and after that thing blew up just a couple weeks ago or whenever it was coming off you guys’ show, that blew up and it was like, okay, ‘He’s coming back…’ And I sent him a text and his wife has been ill, asked how she was, asked how he was, ‘Everything going okay?’ And we had a couple of texts back-and-forth and it never came up.”

We’ll have to keep a close eye on the coming weeks or months to see if Cody Rhodes and Arn Anderson end up getting back together. But for Anderson, it seems like the perfect move as he is still all praise for the Universal Champion as he believes that no matter what promotion, Rhodes deserves to be a top-tier talent.

Arn Anderson considers Rhodes a well-rounded professional

A few weeks ago, the legendary WWE Hall of Famer was speaking on his ARN podcast about the American Nightmares’ celebration at WrestleMania XL. The night when Rhodes had the entire pro wrestling universe praising him for finishing his and his father’s dream. So, being one of the biggest influences in the champion’s life, Anderson had some words of praise to share about Rhodes. He appreciated him for being a well-rounded professional and a perfect cast for the role he plays as the major protagonist of the Stamford-based promotion.

“I did not see it. But I saw clips of the aftermath. And the fact that he was appreciated to that degree by his company, I mean that’s a guy that — if you own a wrestling company, why would you want him a predominant player with your company. He looks the part, he’s a gentleman. He’s a professional, he’s a tremendous talent.”

He continued, “He loves the business, he has a lineage of second to none. You know, with his brother and his father, I mean all these positive things. And he’s a guy that when you need a match, if you need 40 minutes tonight, no question. ‘Cody, you got 40 minutes in you?’ ‘Not a problem.’ Everybody can’t do that, and continue to keep the level that you need to for a 40-45 minute match. They know what they got; they’re glad to get him back. You know, and you can tell that. He’s an all-around pro.”

It should be remembered that just a few weeks before these statements, ‘The American Nightmare’ commented that he may want a manager for his career as WWE Undisputed Champion. Now, seeing that Anderson is done with AEW and just made his appearance in the WWE again, it would not be unreasonable to see them together again. What do you think? Will the Hall of Famer become the manager of the American Nightmare? Let us know in the comments.
