Rusev (Miro) and Lana (CJ) fought against all odds to maintain their sanity during the horrific last days of the former’s WWE run. In fact, Rusev himself claimed that WWE’s love-story angle involving Lana-Bobby Lashley-Rusev was not exactly ideal for either of them.
After his exit from WWE, Rusev debuted in AEW as Kip Sabian’s best man. As a result, he was asked if there was any specific advice he would like to give Kip prior to his marriage with Penelope. According to the former WWE Superstar, it all boils down to loving his wife above everything, against all odds.
“Love your wife. Love your wife more than everything. People are gonna your relationship, people are gonna attack everything and they are trying to tear you apart. But this love comes.”

Rusev talks about his bond with Lana
Rusev shed light on the bond which he shares with Lana. He talks about his wife with nothing but love, respect, and admiration.
“I was so happy and blessed because my love with CJ didn’t come from the physical attraction. We came from a bond that we had for us living overseas together. You know separately, but in the Eastern Block. Then God, God was a big part. We started going to Church together, before we even hooked up.
“Before we even did anything. That was our biggest, umm, kind of fall in love moment was once we found out we love Pink, the singer. We love God, and we were stuck working professional wrestling together all the time. All this blossomed into this beautiful love and relationship that now you see people try to take away or they’re trying to spoil it. They’re trying to do all kinds of stuff.”
Rusev concluded with a final piece of marriage advice.

“Do not let that bother you man because people are just going to hate. They’re gonna hate because you love somebody else, because you love somebody who is beautiful, who is young. You’re young and you’re beautiful and you just can’t let that happen. It’s impossible because love is what’s going to save the world. It’s not drama, it’s not your money, it’s not your latest car, it’s not that man, It’s love and caring for people.”
