AEW is leaving no stone unturned to surprise their fans. In the latest segment of AEW Dynamite, fans saw one of the company’s top talent namedrop a WWE legend and Hall of Famer Bret Hart out of the blue. And the person who did so is none other than Bryan Danielson.

While cutting a promo for the Blackpool Combat Club, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion confidently claimed to be a better wrestler than The Hitman. His comment about the WWE legend is drawing plenty of heat from pro wrestling fans.

Bryan Danielson calls Bret Hart egotistical

Whenever fans hear the phrase ‘the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be,’ their mind automatically points toward The Heartthrob. This famous phrase is synonymous with him. Using this phrase, Danielson cut a promo for the Blackpool Combat Club on this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite.

There is no direct name-calling but the usage of the famous phrase makes it obvious to the fans to know who he is talking about. He calls Hart “egotistical” for nullifying the fact that in the future some other wrestler might surpass him. He also adds he is better than any other wrestler who has come before him.

He then continues to claim that either he or his stable mates are the best in the world. Turning his attention to The Elite, he says that unlike them, his stable is working hard to push AEW to the top of the ladder. Their goal is to make the promotion the best in the entire world.

Coming back to The Hitman, the 41-year-old wrestler calling himself better than the WWE Hall of Famer infuriated some of the wrestling fans.

Pro wrestling fans react to Danielson’s comment

Certainly, not all the pro wrestling fans around were okay with the Washington-born star’s comment about the Canadian star. Some fans expressed their discontent with his statement. Let’s have a look at what the fans had to say.

A characteristic of a true heel is the ability to draw in heat from the fans. And by the looks of it, the AEW star did a good job by cutting his promo like a true heel. It would be interesting to find out how the 65-year-old star will respond to this comment. He did express his desire to have one on one with Bryan once.
