Edge made his debut in the WWE in 1998 and his last match was in front of his home crowd of Toronto, Canada just a month ago. This marked Edge’s 25 years of being with the WWE. Post that match, he spoke to the fans and told them that he would make a decision about his future with the WWE.

Sadly, WWE flatly rejected certain conditions Edge made in his contract which led to him joining AEW. At AEW’s PPV WrestleDream, Edge made his electrifying debut which left AEW fans dumbstruck. But this also made some hardcore WWE fans upset and even angry. Some of them took to Twitter to mock and troll Edge for his decision.

But Edge finally opened up on Twitter regarding his decision to join AEW and also took this chance to shut up these irate fans. He clearly expressed that if they are true pro wrestling fans, they should be happy with his decision. He tweeted, “I don’t buy into this odd mentality of one company or the other. It’s weird. If you took offense to that, take a walk, get some fresh air and soak up some sunshine. It’s wrestling. An amazing gig. But still, it’s wrestling. Relax. It’s supposed to be fun. And it’s just a segment of the fans, not most fans, and definitely not the performers.

Copeland also spoke about how competition in the industry helps propel pro-wrestling forward. “Within the industry we all know that more choices is better for everyone and pushes us all to be better. As a wrestling fan, which I still am, it’s exciting that there’s viable companies providing wrestling on national and worldwide platforms. If you’re actually a fan of wrestling, and not acronyms, that should make you happy too,” he said.
