WWE isn’t going to Minneapolis next year to host the biggest wrestling event of the calendar, as reported earlier. That said, some early speculations suggested that their rivals would take their flagship PPV, Double or Nothing to the Sin City instead.

Unlike the norm, the venue of WrestleMania 41 has been atypically beset by doubt for a while. However, the uncertainty came to an end with Triple H, confirming that Las Vegas would host WWE WrestleMania 41 on the 19th and 20th of April 2025. Interestingly, this is the same city where Tony Khan is conducting this year’s Double or Nothing later this month.

Despite WrestleMania 41 scoring incredible success, the extreme cold weather prevailing in open-air stadiums hampered fans’ comfort. Noticing this problem, The Game evaluated alternative measures for next year’s edition of The Show of Shows. Primarily, the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis was earmarked as a probable destination. The indoor stadium doesn’t pose the risk of any possible cold conditions putting a dent in affairs. However, the North Star State quickly found themselves fighting a losing battle.

Las Vegas emerged as the more suitable candidate for the collective authority. However, the Sin City has its own flaws and according to some beliefs, it is highly likely to get replaced as the host city of AEW Double or Nothing next year by Minnesota on reasonable grounds.

A Fightful agent noted, “Because AEW is probably not going to run Las Vegas one month after WrestleMania like I find it hard to believe that they’re going to run that through and they should, First off AEW should not be running Memorial Day weekend in Las Vegas anyway, it’s so busy it’s so expensive, have a little respect for your fans in that regard, you know, not make them pay thousands and thousands of dollars to go to the show, I would love to see them go Minnesota Minneapolis and do that like take care of the city that just got kicked in the a**.”

But why did WWE snub the city of Minneapolis?

The reason behind WWE choosing Las Vegas over Minnesota for WrestleMania 41: Explained

Minnesota has a rich history when it comes to hosting World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) events. The Land of 10,000 Lakes has hosted a lot of generational talents like Brock Lesnar, Vader, etc. But despite all the favorable facts, it got replaced for the next year’s Shows of the Show, and the city’s president for sports and events deemed it as a result of a change in ownership. “WWE that Minnesota informed us would not host WrestleMania in 2025 due to a change in direction by new ownership. Although disappointed, we are in discussions with WWE about future events in Minnesota. We are optimistic that Minnesota will host WWE events here in the future.” said President Wendy Blackshaw to the Star Tribune.
