After a well-crafted hype, Mercedes Mone a.k.a Sasha Banks returned to the American pro wrestling scene. It was reported in 2023 that her contract with NJPW will be expiring soon and she has been in talks with both WWE and AEW. While many fans wanted her to return to WWE after leaving the promotion back in 2022, she decided to make her way to AEW during AEW Big Business in Boston, Massachusetts.
While fans are happy that she finally returned to mainstream pro wrestling, her new theme song is not receiving the same love.

While fans are happy to see her back, the same can’t be said about her new theme song. Actor and wrestling critic, O’Shea Jackson Jr was the first one to point out something about her new theme song. In a tweet, he mentioned that the song is oddly familiar to a former WWE star’s theme song.
The theme song has a striking resemblance to the song previously used by Austrian WWE star Gunther. The only difference between the two songs is that Walter Hahn’s theme has a menacing tone to it, and Mone’s theme is a bit upbeat.
However, other fans decided to follow the Den of Thieves star in voicing their criticism of Mone’s new song.
Fans accuse Sasha Banks of stealing
That’s what plenty of fans accused her of after she posted about the release of her new theme song on Instagram. One fan commented, “Good music…great stealing of Imperium theme song.” Another fan on a similar note mentioned, “I’m sorry I’m sorry but to this is Walter’s song not even Gunther.” When fans were done panning her for plagiarism, some of them decided to share their opinion on her work.
