AEW’s Hook has been a living sensation among global fanfare since his epic rise in the business culminated in a title shot against Chris Jericho. The veteran also spoke highly of his All-In opponent in a recent interview, highlighting the way he has elevated his game to a better place. The young wrestler also had a dark loom of setbacks where he had to deal with a baseball bat strike and two shattering Judas effects from the Learning Tree. But leaving all these behind, the 25-year-old is now focusing on getting back his FTW belt from Jericho in London.

Before he earned more value as a celebrity wrestler scoring a decisive win in the PLE, let’s appreciate another rare side of the in-ring legend.

Hook made his professional wrestling debut against Fuego Del Sol on an episode of AEW Rampage on December 10, 2021. Within three years, the second-generation wrestler rose to the rank of an esteemed AEW asset. Wrestling runs in his blood as he incorporates the skills from his legendary father, Taz, by birth. When the wrestler was born, his father was living at the peak of his storied career as an active ECW champion.

However, the most notable part is apart from nailing his inherited talent, Hook possesses a knack for another sport. When a lot of wrestlers in his age were busy shaping their bodies up for smooth sailing into the squared circle, Hook used to play state-level lacrosse in his high school era.

He got the ticket to join the prestigious Bucknell Bison men’s lacrosse team in college. He also used to be a long-stick midfielder for the Bison and competed in four games. The versatile athlete was ranked 74th in the nation as a lacrosse player. However, despite bagging an impressive feat in the field of Lacrosse, the glory of his wrestling career remains unmatched.

Will Hook ever jump ship in the Stamford-based company?

A lot of stars jump from AEW to WWE and vice versa each year. When it comes to quantity, Khan is ferocious at signing more and more talents and stockpiling them in the roster forever. But if we talk about the quality, comfort, and leeway fighters are provided with, WWE is heaven. While stars like Ricochet faced a dump in Tony Khan’s hands and were seemingly eyeing a revamp in WWE before resigning a deal in AEW, Hook can choose a similar path anytime soon.

Hook’s AEW contract is up for expiration late this year. And it seems that the star is open to negotiating any new deal to open a new avenue in his promising career. AEW undoubtedly gave Hook the platform to set his footing strong in the business. But as he grew up as a performer, they largely failed to give him the push and place he needed to foster further.

Although he has tipped against the stars like Chris Jericho, a lack of attention is pretty visible in most of his bookings. A potential jump in WWE might look beneficial for the 25-year-old at this point. Although there’s no official update on this, as we believe, never say never in wrestling.
