In the last couple of weeks, AEW has been in the news for all the good and bad reasons. On the good side, they broke the attendance record for any pro wrestling event at ‘All In’ with 81,035 tickets sold. But on the bad side, AEW fired its star athlete, CM Punk following disciplinary action. Fans definitely want answers from Tony Khan but he has tactfully avoided any questions regarding Punk at the moment.

The wrestling community years for more clarity as some still hope that their favorite superstar can be reinstated. Nevertheless, that looks unlikely to happen after Khan’s recent gesture.

It’s been just 2 days and the news of CM Punk being fired from AEW is still rattling the wrestling universe. Fans were left dumbstruck as they thought that firing Punk was a bit too harsh from Tony Khan.

But they were in for the shock of their lives when AEW put out a statement that they were severing ties with CM Punk.

Fans even booed Tony Khan for his harsh decision when he came out to address the crowd in Chicago before Collision began. And at the post-event media scrum for ‘All Out’, a reporter asked him what he learned from the CM Punk episode, but he just completely ignored it.

One fan praised Adam Cole for not spilling out the beans and being very diplomatic in such a tense situation. He said, “@AdamColePro did a good PR statement honestly. It was a stupid question just wanted drama”.

The AEW president could face much more demanding questions in the future but only time will tell if he follows the same approach whenever confronted. It seems unlikely that Khan could get away without scrutiny if he decides to follow the same approach as evidenced by the fan sentiment online. Nevertheless, more clarity could emerge as time goes by.
