CM Punk joined AEW in 2021. After functioning smoothly for a while, the company proved to be problematic for him. The former WWE star got into a feud with AEW’s two Executive Vice Presidents. The feud led to both parties being suspended for a lengthy amount of time. Although the EVPs, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks returned eventually, CM Punk remained exiled from TV time. This controversy was subject to a lot of debate. However, the relationship between the company and CM Punk now seems to be getting better.

Recently AEW President Tony Khan officially announced that Punk will be returning to AEW television after the long gap. In fact, his return won’t be just any regular in-ring performance but will give him more powers than a usual talent would get.

As reported by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, CM Punk’s AEW return could also include his heavy involvement in the creative in the upcoming ‘AEW Collision’. If not for all the stars, then most probably for his own storylines. Moreover, he will be working with Ace Steel and will have a say in several storylines revolving around himself.

It should be noted that AEW has not confirmed this rumor to be true or false. However, when the word got to wrestling fans, most of them seemed to be on board with the idea.

These fans absolutely believe in CM Punk and how he will uplift the show.

 

Some of the fans are absolutely on board with the idea of the former WWE star receiving creative powers in AEW. They believe this can attract a lot of audiences to the show and help it grow.

Some fans are usually skeptical about AEW’s new strategies pertaining to their upcoming shows. But when it comes to AEW Collision, fans are now hopeful after hearing CM Punk’s speculated involvement in its creative output. The first episode of Collision will premiere on 17th June 2023. The plan up until now is to air episodes weekly.

Punk returning to claim back his screen time is an official announcement as compared to the rumors that started about his WWE return. Although those were debunked soon after, some fans might have hoped for his return to WWE. And even if WON’s speculation about Punk’s creative involvement turns out to be false, fans are sure to see him return to action.
