CM Punk’s second run in AEW ended on a sour note. After his much-appreciated match at All In, Punk was fired from AEW due to the backstage altercation that preceded his match. However, looking back at the clip of him celebrating his win at All In, it’s almost evident that Punk knew what lay ahead for him.
Keen-eyed wrestling fans detected the underlying emotion in Punk’s victory. They also concocted the theory that he might have realized it was his last appearance in the AEW ring. The viral video says a lot about this perspective.

It was reported previously that before CM Punk locked horns with Samoa Joe in front of over 80,000 fans at Wembley Stadium that he had a skirmish backstage. Punk allegedly sucker punched “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry in response to Perry taking a dig at Punk during the pre-show.
According to an eyewitness, Punk was the primary aggressor. He seemingly delivered a cheap shot to Jack Perry and attempted to choke him out. In addition, there are accounts of him “lunging” towards Tony Khan before everyone intervened and safeguarded Khan.
Reports also stated that an outraged Punk then said, “I quit,” before he even went out to wrestle his match. However, Samoa Joe managed to convince Punk to wrestle. After a hard-fought match, he retained his “real” AEW World Championship and started waving at the fans in attendance.
While some fans think he was simply saying goodbye to Wembley, others are positive that Punk knew he was getting fired after the match. By the looks of it, The Straight Edge Star’s face in the video conveyed that he was done with AEW.
Anyway, not long after, Tony Khan announced that AEW had ended its deal with Punk. Khan also added that he was scared for his life, which is not a good look for Punk. No matter how controversial Punk was in WWE, his time in AEW undoubtedly marred his reputation. Moving on, let’s look at how the fans reacted to CM Punk’s “goodbye” video.
