When it comes to CM Punk, he always seems to leave a wrestling promotion after starting some kind of controversy. With the WWE, it was his pipe bomb that was followed by his heated exchange with Vince McMahon. In AEW, he had a backstage exchange and altercation with Adam Page and Jack Perry later on. Today, Punk is set to appear at the biggest WrestleMania of all time this year. However, his most recent interview and thoughts on AEW and Tony Khan have led him into hot water.
Punk worked in AEW for two years, marking his return to pro wrestling after his stint in the UFC. However, after things fell apart and he was terminated, he returned to the WWE after almost a decade.

Punk appeared on the MMA Hour and had a lot to say. The Chicago native is set to appear at WrestleMania XL despite not being in a match, and fans are excited about it. This line, in particular, got fans up in arms as it reflected back to what Adam Page said about Punk. According to Page, Punk was someone who only looked out for himself. The current AEW star was all for guaranteed pay, as it helped wrestlers who were not part of an active storyline. This structure would ensure that everyone on the roster was paid.
However, in Punk’s recent interview, he claimed that it ruined pro wrestling as wrestlers would not have to be a draw to earn their living. This would bring down the quality of the shows, as wrestlers knew they would get a paycheck regardless of the quality of the match. While both men had a point, fans were quick to hate the Second City Saint for the way he phrased it and harken back to Page being right.

Some pointed out what Punk said during his first promo in the WWE. Punk claimed that he was here for the money yet bashed AEW for giving him money.
Didn't he say in his return promo "I'm here to make money. I'm not here to make friends."?

Some fans pointed out the sudden change in Punk and how he now cares about the business and not the wrestlers themselves.
Sounds like Hangman was right about Punk not caring about workers rights.
That guaranteed money helped pay Punk while he was out injured, too. And has helped others out as well.
Punk suddenly caring more about "the business" than "the wrestlers" is the most anti-punk thing.

Punk is the biggest baby out there. Nothing is his fault, he is always the victim and only acts tough around guys half his weight.
