Pat McAfee has been making quite the name for himself in the wrestling business. Coming in hot out of NFL, the former punter has been turning a lot of heads his way whenever he gets on the mic.
Arguably the best heel in WWE after Roman Reigns, McAfee has been absolutely killing it in NXT. His raw charisma and flow as a heel have contributed a lot towards the NXT viewership.

Although, the former NFL player isn’t the only celebrity to be in the ring anymore. NBA legend Shaquille O’Neil has been working with AEW and is set to make an imminent appearance.
Talking on Busted Open Radio, Pat McAfee shared his thoughts on having another non-wrestling name enter the ring to wrestle.

“I know that there’s somebody from the outside that’s getting involved in wrestling right now and I know he is a much bigger name and human than me, but good f***ing luck, pal,” said McAfee.
“That is literally how I feel. And I know that a lot of people were mocking me coming in as an outsider because I wasn’t a mainstream media popular person,” admits McAfee.

“But it’s been awesome to watch my people on the internet get re-into wrestling, which is what I’ve seen a lot of like hey, haven’t watched wrestling in a long, long time, now we’re back in it because you’re there and I feel like I’m, I don’t want to say I’m contributing to something that gave me so much for so long, but it feels good to help out the wrestling business just a little bit,” said McAfee.

“I am eager and excited to watch other people try to do what I did and see how that goes. And I would very much like a fair assessment on those big sons of b*****s whenever they get in there and fail like everybody else has in the past,” concluded the former NFL star.
Like McAfee, NFL Quarterback Rob Gronkowski was also briefly involved in WWE. He made a huge WrestleMania appearance and also held the 24/7 Championship for a while.
