No matter how hard Tony Khan tries, he ends up landing in the fans’ crosshairs. He is often trolled for his tweets and posts, which fans believe could be peculiar at times. However, sometimes he lands up in trouble even without doing anything. Something similar happened recently when a fan pointed out that Khan is inconsistent about one thing. Later on, many realized that the said thing was done by him just twice only to abandon it completely. And fans are not quite happy about it.
Tony Khan proved to be inconsistent
A fan on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) pointed out that the President of AEW used to post weekly ratings of the stars on his roster. The fan also pointed out that the last time the rankings were posted was back on February 10, 2024. They wrote, “Did Tony Khan forget to post the newest rankings?”

Khan posted the ratings just twice. One was on January 31, 2024, and the second one was 10 days later. The rankings showed the champions in the men’s, women’s, tag team, and trio divisions. Apart from that, their top five contenders were also listed in the rankings.
The names that were consistent throughout were the names of stars such as Samoa Joe, Orange Cassidy, Jon Moxley, Adam Copeland, and others. The top contenders for the champions moved up and down the ranks in those two weeks.

However, it looks like it is easy for Khan to make fans angry. Here is how fans reacted after realizing that he stopped posting the rankings almost a month ago.
Fans are angry
The reactions ranged from anger to trolling. One fan pointed out that AEW’s ranking system is something that is not suitable for pro wrestling. Unlike other sports such as MLB or NFL, pro wrestling is more script-driven, and thus rankings don’t make sense, according to this fan.
I tried giving AEW rankings a shot when reintroduced, but that faded away quickly. Unlike the NFL, MLB, or even MMA, I don’t think wrestling’s scripted, narrative driven nature meshes with these sports-based rankings. I’d move on from them.

Another fan pointed out that Khan might have given up on this thing way back. The only way to back up this claim was the fact that AEW’s Deonna Purrazzo was able to challenge ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm for the title despite losing the first time. If the rankings were working, she shouldn’t be able to challenge the champion twice.
He gave up already cuz why is Deonna getting a rematch

One fan pointed out that the tool could have been used for storyline purposes and could have reaped better results. Another fan stated that the rankings should be a monthly thing or done for PPVs instead of weekly. This is the second time fans have requested Khan to bring something back.
I think he stopped with the rankings. They have barely been mentioned and no updates. It’s a shame because they could be a great storytelling tool

One fan thought that the rankings should be posted monthly instead of on a weekly basis and commented, “They should do them monthly or every PPV cycle. Weekly isn’t necessary imo”

Another fan decided to troll Khan and give some hope to the fans at the same time. In a hilarious way, the fan called out Tony Khan “chronically online king” for obvious reasons.
With people talking about it on the internet that he hasn’t, he will soon. Trust the chronically online king.
