AEW All In, which took place in August 2023, was set to be Tony Khan‘s baby’s biggest show. The PPV sold over 80,000 tickets and was a monument in the company’s run. However, today, it is remembered for the backstage altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry. While the flames of that incident were dying down, Punk reignited it with his MMA Hour interview. Following this, Khan decided to add fuel to the fire. Moreover, a former WWE star chose to jump on the wagon.
The airing of the backstage footage on AEW resulted in a backlash towards Khan. While most of the community supported Punk, a former foe decided to call him out.

To say The Big Guy, Ryback, and Punk don’t see eye-to-eye would be an understatement. Their 2012 and 2013 feud resulted in Punk speaking ill of Ryback once he left the company. Claiming The Big Guy was unsafe to work with on Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast, the former AEW star made it clear he did not like Ryback. This led to Ryback calling out Punk anytime he got the chance once he, too, departed from the company. Now, with the release of the backstage footage, The Big Guy has tons to feed on. Taking to social media, Ryback gave his two cents on the matter. He said, “This guy was in a position of power to some degree, as well as being a talent.”

It was clear from Khan’s and Punk’s interviews that CM Punk had some backstage power in AEW. He was also one of their biggest draws, with experts claiming AEW All In was as big as it was due to the Second City Saint. However, The Big Guy said, “Phil being 55 years old, he has the maturity level of a middle school dropout.”

Moreover, he said, “Anyone screaming that Fragile Phil told the truth fails to understand the finer details of his actions and inability to control his hissy fit temper tantrums.” While the majority of the wrestling community has pegged Khan and AEW for being in the wrong, the former WWE star certainly feels differently. Despite many of his fans claiming that The Big Guy is doing so to get in the good books of Khan for a job opportunity, Ryback claims that he says it as he sees it.
