Despite attracting sporadic controversies, Tony Khan continues to bring shockers to fans by launching new faces in the fore. The latest name to grace the AEW ring is Matt Cardona. Four years later, the Indy God again plunged his nose into Khan’s business to answer his former mentor Adam Copeland’s open challenge for the TNT Championship. Despite being unable to clinch a win, Cardona’s heroic effort throughout the match awakened the crowd.
Post the match, the former Jack Rider, however, went back to his basic, the highly sought-after free agent existing in the indie realm.

Cardona’s surprise appearance was not utterly a surprise though, as some social media wind-ups had been brewing it for a week or so. The Death Match king himself shared a picture of Edge and The Edgeheads teasing a competitive eye for The Rated-R Superstar’s TNT Title, stating that he could use another championship. Staying true to the hints, Cardona finally ditched the Squared Circle Expo Championship against Último Dragón at the Black Label Pro event to wrestle Edge tonight on the March 30th edition of AEW Collision in Budweiser Gardens, London.

To speak of the match, the duo delivered a banger opening encounter leading to a battle to the bone and ultimately Edge’s retaining of the title with a spear.
Edge and Cardona had an obscure history together. Cardona used to play the WWE Hall of Famer’s heater early in his career. Moving ahead, Matt Cardona had some messages for his fans post the grand AEW return.

After the Indie wrestler stepped into the AEW ring to a resounding pop from the crowd, he made sure to address fans on social media as well. He just echoed that he kept his promise, tweeting, ”I’ve been telling you I’m #AlwayzReady! @AEW #AEWCollision”

While it’s not even a mystery how much fans are impressed with his AEW move, they’re certainly craving more. But as Cardone hasn’t officially signed with AEW yet, we can only look for catching these sporadic splashes from time to time.
