Tony Khan moved from being a talent catcher to an impulsive terminator real soon. The promotion hasn’t been on the good side of the ratings lately and continues receiving brickbats from all across. To even the score, the Head honcho made up his mind to evaluate the roster and made some random talent cuts for better regulation of the situation. But being criticized is his final stop, no matter what. Late wrestler Brodie Lee’s wife’s cryptic tweet has widely been viewed as a sneer at Khan.
Brodie Lee’s wife seems upset over Tony Khan’s recent talent cut mission
Lee brought his prawns on the AEW ring even for a very brief period. After popping up as the Exalted One during a stellar Dynamite episode in March 2020, the former ‘Luke Harper’ quickly found his footing in Khan’s business as a new TNT Champion. In a tragic course of events, in the same year, he passed away succumbing to a rare lung disease. However, his wife, Amanda, continues to chime in the wrestling discussions over social media. Now, as Khan recently let go of a series of talents including masked high flyer, Gravity, Slim J, Jora Johl, and many more, Amanda came up with an upsetting tweet that reads, ”Man. I’m just f***ing sad.”

Man.
I’m just fucking sad.

The comment section of her post clearly got the stealthy message. However, adding to that, Khan received another blow from ex-employee CM Punk, who refused to acknowledge him as a boss.

CM Punk’s AEW run came to an abrupt halt a few months back after a scuffle with Jack Perry during All-In. That said, it was only a final nail in the coffin. From his initial fallout with ‘Hangman’ Adam Page to the infamous ALL-Out brawl, Punk’s time in Khan’s promotion has entirely been mired with controversies.
On the contrary, he also added value and legitimacy to the business. But it wasn’t enough to change Khan’s mind about him and culminated in his firing at last. The Best in The World then reverted to his old wrestling home to a resounding pop during the Survivor Series. But he still holds some hard feelings for his former employer.
Evaluating Khan’s quality as a leader, Punk said, “I don’t like the drama but the truth is the truth. He’s not a boss, he’s a nice guy. That’s a detriment to the company [AEW] but it’s not my company.”
