AEW has had quite a few wrestling legends become a part of the company in recent times. According to Matt Hardy, it’s primarily because of the culture at the company. But, will the fans have more wrestling legends join the company?
Matt Hardy sat down with Ishan Chavan for an exclusive interview with EssentiallySports, and discussed where the company stands on bringing in more legends.

According to Hardy, AEW will always consider having legends on-board as long as they find the right place for them. He believes legends have the responsibility to pass on knowledge to the younger talent and it is important to give them that place.
“I mean, I think there is a place in the industry for legends like that. And, I think not only do their fan bases enjoy seeing them, but they can also give so much knowledge to a younger team. You know, it’s much like myself, working with Private Party or, you know, working with Butcher and Blade, you know, give them tips, you know, to help them improve their game.”

Matt Hardy credits AEW’s Tony Khan for the success with wrestling legends
He credited Tony Khan with knowing how to ensure the wrestling legends are given the position they deserve in the company.

“I think fans enjoy seeing them there. And, it’s just like finding the correct role for them, and utilizing them in the right way. But, the most important thing that I can’t put Tony Khan over enough about, I can’t speak highly enough about Tony Khan, is he really does put legends in roles that utilize them like legends they are and that is a great thing.”
AEW has seen a significant growth in roster over the past year. It includes quite a few legends such as Sting and Chris Jericho. Additionally, several released WWE Superstars have joined the company and taken a significant portion of their fans to AEW.
