The wait is almost over. CM Punk is set to make his comeback on AEW on June 17. This week on Saturday, the Jacksonville-based promotion will launch its new weekly show, AEW Collision. Punk will make his first appearance for AEW since his infamous All Out media scrum in September 2022.

The wrestling world is excited to see the ‘Second City Savior’ make a comeback. However, Eric Bischoff is clearly unhappy with his return to the promotion. Recently, Bischoff lambasted Tony Khan for bringing back Punk, considering the fact of how much damage he caused to his promotion.

While speaking with Ariel Helwani on his podcast, Bischoff confessed to being irate because of Khan’s decision. He stated he is not okay with the AEW president bringing the former WWE star back because he caused so much havoc in the recent past.

“CM Punk sat there in a press conference right next to Tony Khan and made him look like a moron. He just emasculated him right there in public. Ripped the company destroyed the locker room and they bring him back. I don’t get it,” the former WWE Raw general manager said.

He also stated that if he were in Khan’s shoes, he would have cut all ties with Punk in a heartbeat after his fallout at All-Out post-media scrum last September. He added that ‘The Best in the World ‘ is not worth dealing with all the backlash and humiliation Khan had to suffer last year.

During the podcast interview, Bischoff insinuated that Punk is not the needlemover that many people believe him to be. He said he is fragile and can’t live up to the expectations. and that he is not good for the locker room, as his past records clearly depict his problems adjusting to a promotion with other top pro wrestlers.

Bischoff admitted Punk did help to increase the audience ratings and revenue of the PPVs when he made his debut in AEW, but that was only for a while. Bischoff said it was because pro wrestling fans were excited to see him inside the squared circle almost after six long years.
